A place where paradise can be dreamed.

O Courel is a mountainous region located in the southwest of the province of Lugo, Galicia. This mountain range is completed by the mountains of Os Ancares, its sister to the north, the most spectacular natural frontier in the lands of Galaicas. It is a broken territory, of mountains fractured by geological cataclysms, of faults that formed pointed ridges and deep valleys, of vertical slopes and valleys furrowed by streams.

Among its highest peaks, Formigueiros, Montouto and Pía Paxaro, there are natural landscapes that are a true paradise for hiking fans

We are sure you will absolutely love all the wonderful accommodations . We have personally selected all our accommodations to give you the best possible experience. During the Camino we will spend the night at the most charming Manor Houses. They are located in beautiful rural areas surrounded by lush, peaceful scenery to give you a complete cultural experience. All of our accommodations have en suite bathrooms. You can be sure to receive personalized attention and excellent service from the owners, who will make you feel right at home.

You walk your Camino at your own pace. There is no one you have to follow or walk with. We have meeting points along the way where our support vehicle will be waiting with snacks, fruit and water and to make sure everything is OK. We start walking at around 9 am and finish our daily walk just in time for lunch. We meet at the end of the stage to eat, have a drink and relax. If you do not want to keep walking for any reason, you can hop on the support vehicle or be taken back to the hotel. You mustn't worry about getting lost as the yellow arrows always show the way. After the daily walk, and after we’ve all had lunch we will head back to the hotel.

A route through O Courel is a walk back in time to marvel at a Galicia that is practically forgotten.

Devesa de Paderne, is an area of woods and chestnut groves, a place of shade and great beauty. The day hike takes place on paths that lead to abandoned places and others almost deserted. Some of these date back to before the Roman occupation. Others like Vi- lasibil have houses from the 13th century, still inhabited today. Here the chestnut tree is still a source of livelihood. One hike that takes us to an old mine in the open sky, a gold mine. This was a 2000 year old place of prospecting on the part of the Ro- mans. On the way we will pass by small chapels and alvarizas (protection against the bears). The landscape over the valley is amazing and highlights this place, full of calm. This was a fantastic trip with lots of free time to explore the cities on your own. The local transport used was extremely good and the included activities, particularly the tapas and the Camino walk, were excellent.

A great trip, with a wonderful group of fellow travellers. Incredibly well lead by Helder. Enabled an opportunity to get to know a little about Spain and to appreciate the diverse nature and history of the country.
