The Pyrennes Mountain Range

A 7 day tour where you will discover within the region of the Pyrenees a variety of places - from the desert to the highest peaks, without forgetting the beautiful  forests, the irregular slopes and the luscious green valleys.

We will walk through places such as the Ordesa National Park, Monte Perdido and the surroundings of Riglos, a different and surprising space on the peninsula. Whilst on the French side, we will see how the deep gorges rip into the landscape.

During the Camino we will spend the night at the most charming Manor Houses. They are located in beautiful rural areas surrounded by lush, peaceful scenery to give you a complete cultural experience. All of our accommodations have en suite bathrooms. You can be sure to receive personalized attention and excellent service from the owners, who will make you feel right at home.

You walk your Camino at your own pace. There is no one you have to follow or walk with. We have meeting points along the way where our support vehicle will be waiting with snacks, fruit and water and to make sure everything is OK. We start walking at around 9 am and finish our daily walk just in time for lunch. We meet at the end of the stage to eat, have a drink and relax. If you do not want to keep walking for any reason, you can hop on the support vehicle or be taken back to the hotel. You mustn't worry about getting lost as the yellow arrows always show the way. After the daily walk, and after we’ve all had lunch we will head back to the hotel.

We will walk through the bowels of the earth and discover the third largest underground cave in the world with its impressive interior waterfall.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrival in Ayerbe via Pamplona

Hemingway's Pamplona receives us and after a brief presentation we will travel to the first destination in the pre-Pyrenees, (Riglos) and transfer to Ayerbe. We will visit the Loarre Castle (the best preserved castle in Aragon). Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Los Mallos de Riglos (11 km)

The Mallos de Riglos are impressive geological formations that draw an amazing mountainous landscape and are a paradise for climbers. Its spectacular rocky landscapes welcome us for our walk today. We will visit the famous Ordesa National Park and Monte Perdido. Transfer to Torla. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Bujaruelo Valley and Sarradet Refuge (round trip 18.5 km)

The San Nicolás de Bujaruelo hospital and its medieval bridge are our starting point. The valley was the entrance of past pilgrims and where we will take the same road and the mountain pass to France. A little further up we will find the Sarradet refuge and its views over the Gavarnie Cirque and the Gap that will be our resting point and where we will return along the same path back. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Circus of Cariata and Cotatuero (14 km)

From the Prairie we go up to the Cariata Circus and walk along narrow paths in a magnificent mountainous environment. It is an impressionable sensation to be able to walk along this unique setting of the Ordesa National Park. We continue through the Fajas and after walking through the middle of the beech forest we end in the valley on the banks of the Torla river. Accommodation and dinner.

Day 5: The Hermitage of San Juan de la Peña (10 km)

After breakfast we travel to Santa Cruz de Serós and we will visit its 9th century church. We start walking along an old Jacobean path towards the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña. We visit the old monastery from the 9th century and climb the new one from the 18th century. We then return to our transport and head to Saint Engrace - France. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: Holtzarte Gorges (14 km)

The French Basque Pyrenees has landscapes of green meadows and deep canyons crossed by fast flowing rivers. Today the trail takes us over the Olhadubi and Holtzarte gorge, through the hanging bridges we cross the precipices of the mountains and walk along the paths of shepherds ... Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: La Verna (4 km)

A day dedicated to caving, a unique 3-hour walk underground, where we will discover a a magical world. We will return to the light and walk to the bottom of the valley, and then onto the Kakoueta gorges, a special place. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 8: Pamplona

After breakfast we make the transfer to the city of Pamplona. Lunch and a free afternoon to enjoy the alleys and the local history of this beautiful town in the best way possible - on foot. Transfer to the airport and end of the tour.

La Cordillera de los Pirineos

Tour de una semana donde descubriremos en esta zona de los Pirineos una variedad de lugares que van desde el desierto hasta los picos más altos, sin olvidar los bosques, las laderas irregulares y los verdes valles.

Día 1: Llegada a Ayerbe vía Pamplona

La Pamplona de Hemingway nos recibe y tras un breve briefing de presentación viajamos al primer destino en el prepirineo, (Riglos) y traslado a Ayerbe. Visita al Castillo de Loarre (el mejor preservado de Aragón). Alojamiento y cena en el hotel.

Día 2: Los Mallos de Riglos (11 km)

Los Mallos de Riglos son unas impresionantes formaciones geológicas que dibujan un asombroso paisaje montañoso y un paraíso para escaladores. Sus espectaculares paisajes rocosos nos reciben para caminar. Visitaremos el famoso Parque Nacional de Ordesa y el Monte Perdido. Traslado a Torla. Alojamiento y cena en el hotel.

Día 3: Valle de Bujaruelo y Refugio Sarradet (ida y vuelta 18,5 km)

El hospital de San Nicolás de Bujaruelo y su puente medieval es nuestro punto de inicio. El valle fué entrada de peregrinos donde tomaremos el mismo camino y el puerto de montaña hacia Francia. Un poco más arriba encontraremos el refugio de Sarradet y sus vistas sobre el circo de Gavarnie y la Brecha que será punto de descanso y volvemos por el mismo sendero de vuelta. Alojamiento y cena en el hotel.

Día 4: Circo de Cariata y Cotatuero (14 km)

Desde la Pradera subimos al circo de Cariata y caminamos por caminos estrechos en un entorno magnifico de montaña. La sensación que tenemos es impresionante el poder caminar sobre este escenario único del Parque Nacional de Ordesa. Seguimos por las Fajas y caminando por el medio del hayedo terminamos en el valle a las orillas del río Torla. Alojamiento y cena.

Dia 5: La Ermita de San Juan de la Peña (10 km)

Tras el desayuno viajamos a Santa Cruz de Serós y su visitaremos su iglesia del siglo IX. Empezamos a caminar por un antiguo caminos jacobeo hacia el Monasterio de San Juan de la Peña. Visitamos el Monasterio viejo del siglo IX y subimos al nuevo del Siglo XVIII. Volvemos después a nuestro transporte y nos dirigimos a Saint Engrace – Francia. Alojamiento y cena en el hotel.

Día 6: Gargantas de Holtzarte (14 km)

El Pirineo Vasco Francés tiene unos paisajes de verdes prados y profundos cañones surcados por ríos muy caudalosos. Hoy el sendero nos lleva por encima de la garganta de Olhadubi y Holtzarte, por los puentes colgantes atravesamos los precipicios de las montañas y caminaremos por caminos de pastores… Alojamiento y cena en el hotel.

Día 7: La Verna (4 km)

Un día dedicado a la espeleología, un paseo diferente de 3h bajo tierra, donde descubriremos un mundo diferente y mágico. Regresaremos a la luz y caminaremos hasta el fondo del valle, para ir después a las gargantas de Kakoueta, Un lugar único. Alojamiento y cena en el hotel.

Día 8: Pamplona

Desayuno y hacemos el traslado a la ciudad de Pamplona. Almuerzo y tarde libre para disfrutar de la mejor manera de los callejones y la historia local de esta bella localidad. Traslado al aeropuerto y fin del programa.
